Long Shore Drift

Longshore Drift is a collection of poetry, short essays, images, and other media that answer the question, "How does it feel to love a place that cannot support you?" This edition includes tales of longing, grief, joy, humor, and resistance that range in format from ceramics to song. Longshore Drift reflects on our ecology, our economy, and our identity as Cape Codders, tied together by the knowledge that the sand beneath us is always being swept away. Originated and published by Greta Nelson and Ella Sampou, the project grew from our recurring discussions with everyone around us– what it means to love and be from this complex place– and the want to build a larger community around these ideas.
